A historic day

Today, April 23, is a historic day, at least if you’re a YouTube user. It was on this day in 2005 that the very first video was uploaded to the site, a video called “Me At the Zoo,” which has gotten close to 2 million hits.
The video features a 19 second clip of Jawed Karim at the zoo. Karim is one of YouTube’s founders. A year and a half after that video was posted, YouTube was sold to Google for the princely sum of 1.65 billion. In case you were wondering, YouTube’s official birthday is February 14, 2005. No word on why it took two months for a video to be posted.
