Pay to use Facebook? Never!

Rumors often circulate that Facebook will soon cost. If the rumors are true, then that means you will no longer be able to log on and communicate with your friends on the site. The good news is that the rumor is just that: a rumor.

Although Facebook could make a pretty penny by charging its users for even the most basic level of access, it wouldn’t be in their best financial interests to do so. That’s because they can make as much as $2 billion in one year off of advertising revenue alone, based on the fact that so many people are members, and that means plenty of eyeballs to view ads.

So, yes, Facebook charges for extras, but the chances of them charging for basic-level access are between slim and none, and as the saying goes, slim just left town.
