Apple in heated dispute

As if Apple didn’t already have enough problems pertaining to its new iPad, now it’s being sued by three users who claim that the wildly popular unit overheats if left in the sun.

The users have actually filed a class-action lawsuit, and the claim is that the unit fails to meet basic expectations because it allegedly shuts down if left in direct sunlight for long enough time, and it can’t be used until it cools down. The lawsuit also takes Apple to task for claiming that using the iPad is like reading a book. Books, of course, don’t usually overheat and shut down in the sun, so their point can be well taken.

The plaintiffs are seeking an injunction and the ever-popular punitive damages.
