Specifically, the alerts would inform the user when their friends post updates, photos, links, and so forth.

Essentially, the feature allows you to subscribe to a user, and in so doing, you’ll get details on almost every aspect of their Facebook activity. It’s not yet known whether this feature will be an opt-in feature, or if you’ll be able to opt out. In any event, it could potentially raise privacy concerns, and it just seems to invite stalking if abused. On the other hand, it also seems as if it’s an easy way to keep tabs on a friend’s activities without any effort.

Rumors put Apple in talks with Fox, with the reported goal of putting Fox shows on iTunes for rental. If this were to happen, you could “rent” shows for 48 hours, and the shows would be available a day after they originally air.

CBS, NBC and Disney are rumored to be involved in similar discussions, which would make programming available from all of the major broadcast networks. If you don’t like commercials, then this may be for you; the rumors also state that there would be no commercials. Confirmation of this rumor is expected next month, along with news about Apple TV, which would deliver movies and videos to customers’ television sets.

The service could possibly be available on Android phones by the end of this year, though both Google and PayPal have refused to comment.

PayPal is already available on iPhone and Blackberry devices, so this next step seems like a natural progression for the payment giant. Although this is far from certain, and is at this point but a rumor, the idea is very intriguing, and it will be interesting to see if Android users embrace the new feature, should it come to reality.

If the rumors are true, then that means you will no longer be able to log on and communicate with your friends on the site. The good news is that the rumor is just that: a rumor.

Although Facebook could make a pretty penny by charging its users for even the most basic level of access, it wouldn’t be in their best financial interests to do so. That’s because they can make as much as $2 billion in one year off of advertising revenue alone, based on the fact that so many people are members, and that means plenty of eyeballs to view ads.

So, yes, Facebook charges for extras, but the chances of them charging for basic-level access are between slim and none, and as the saying goes, slim just left town.

This, according to a post on a Google Operating System, a blog which covers news pertaining to the search engine.

If the rumor that they are reporting is true, then Google Voice users will be able to make calls directly from their Gmail interface, without a need to log in to a separate portal. Also, users will be able to make these calls without a phone, which is presently a requirement for making calls through Google Voice. This in turn brings up the rumor that Google is preparing to compete directly with Skype by providing a VOIP application.

GOS further reports that Google is internally testing a desktop VOIP application, and if true, that would certainly provide a direct competitor to Skype.

There will also be a much-improved multimedia section, as well as a photo viewer. Both of these items will have touch support, making it somewhat similar in function to the iPhone. Users wanting to customize their home screen will be able to do so with the new OS, allowing them to set it up how they want.

It will be interesting to see what the final product is like, and BlackBerry fans will no doubt have plenty of fun seeking out each and every one of the new features. The rumor is that the new OS will bow in July, but that has yet to be confirmed.

One should bear in mind, however, that the phone was found in California…on the floor of a bar.

According to rumors, the new model boasts a front-facing camera, as well as 80GB of storage, and a completely new operating system. Whether or not the phone really is representative of Apple’s next iPhone, it cannot be denied that it is good marketing buzz for the company, and with that in mind, it’s quite possible that the phone was intentionally left.

If it is true that the phone is truly the next iPhone model, and it was not meant to be “leaked,” then it is highly likely that someone is in a world of trouble. That person, according to CNet, may be Apple employee Gray Powell, who was apparently exposed because of a Facebook application on the phone.

Whatever the truth is, it appears that iPhone enthusiasts are placated for the moment.

People are anticipating this latest device, which reportedly will come with an 8 MP camera, and a 480×800 OLED screen. Since information on the release is relatively sparse, and still the subject of speculation, the release date is not confirmed, and there’s no word on what the phone will cost.

It will be interesting to see if the phone debuts on the 29th, and it’ll also be interesting to see what the response is, given that the marketplace is full of PDAs and mobile devices similar to the Android phones.
